Lianna Rose & Luke O'Shea

Lianna Rose and Luke O’Shea have taken home the money and the awards at the 2009 Golden Saddle Awards.

Lianna received the grand prize of $5000 cash as winner of the Golden Saddle Award 2009, beating out other finalists Luke O’Shea, Ronni Rae Rivers, The Harmonators and Victoria Baillie.

Industry judges voted on not only the musical content of the individual albums, but also on a marketing plan supplied by the artists in their applications.

Although Ronni Rae Rivers was leading the tally board with the most online votes on the Golden Saddles website in the months leading up to the Awards night, the audience votes pushed Luke O’Shea across the line to take home $1,000 cash and the Peoples Choice Award.

Earlier in the day, the seven heat winners and one wildcard entrant of The Saddles 2009 Junior Competition competed for $1000 cash, a professionally produced demo from renowned musician Brad Bergen at Little Red Wagon Studios and a performance at the Golden Saddle Awards & Concert later that evening. The winner, Evie Willie, from Wellington NSW performed two originals Feels Like Home
and Sugar Baby.

2009 Junior Saddles WinnerCongratulations must also go to Evie Willie who took out the 2009 Junior Saddles title.

The Golden Saddle Awards will be hosted at Rooty Hill RSL for the next two years in conjunction with the Total Country Weekend.
